Born December 1, 1966, in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, was Baseball Hall of Fame Right Fielder and First Baseman Larry Walker. This legend won three MLB Batting Titles, seven Gold Glove Awards, and was a National League MVP. Walker played for the Montreal Expos, Colorado Rockies, and St. Louis Cardinals during his productive 17-year MLB career, which saw him bat .313 with over 2100 hits.
Born July 31, 1913, in Grenfell, Saskatchewan, Canada, was Canadian Hockey Hall of Fame Right Wing, Bryan Hextall. This legend was on the roster of the New York Rangers. Hextall was four-time first team NHL All Star. Officially he was named a first-team All-Star three times, and a second-team All-Star once. Bryan is always remembered as the skater that scored the overtime-winning goal that clinched the 1940 Stanley Cup for the Rangers.
Born September 2, 1850, in Byron, Illinois, was Baseball Hall of Fame Pitcher, A. G. Spalding. This legend was also a manager and executive in the MLB as the President, co-owner Chicago White Stockings. From the mound he was the National League's wins leader 1871–76. You may recognize his name as he used his baseball knowledge as he innovated and standardized equipment used to become co-founder of Spalding sporting goods company.
Born November 4, 1873, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was Baseball Hall of Fame Infielder Bobby Wallace. This legend played shortstop and third base at a high level for the Cleveland Spiders, St Louis Cardinals, and the St Louis Browns in an amazing 25-year career in MLB. In over 8600 at-bats, Wallace stroked 2309 hits and 34 home runs while carrying a .268 lifetime batting average.
Born February 16, 1953, in Hanna, Alberta, was Hockey Hall of Fame Right Wing Lanny McDonald. This legend was a key player on the Calgary Flames' 1989 Stanley Cup championship team. He was a two-time All-Star and a four-time Lady Byng Memorial Trophy winner. Before becoming a Calgary skater, McDonald was on the roster of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Colorado Avalanche.
Born November 9, 1935, in Omaha, Nebraska, was Baseball Hall of Fame Pitcher Bob Gibson. This legend was a nine-time MLB All-Star, won nine Gold Gloves, two Cy Young Awards, and was a World Series Champion twice, winning the WS MVP Award on both accounts. Gibson spent his 17-year career on the Big Leagues with the St Louis Cardinals, compiling 251 wins, six saves, and carrying a lifetime ERA of 2.91.
Born December 13, 1969, in Pskov, USSR, was Hockey Hall of Fame Center, Sergei Fedorov. This skating legend hoisted Lord Stanley's Cup on three different occasions. Sergei was a two-time Selke winner and an All-Star. He skated with the Detroit Red Wings, Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, Columbus Blue Jackets, and the Washington Capitals during his brilliant 18-year NHL career.
Born August 11, 1920, in Sutherland, Saskatchewan, was Hockey Hall of Fame Goaltender, Chuck Rayner. This legend from between the pipes won the Hart Memorial Trophy in 1950 and was an NHL All-Star 1949, 50, 51. He played his entire nine-year NHL career with the New York Americans, New York Rangers. In 1950 he led the Rangers to overtime in the seventh game of the Stanley Cup finals.
Born February 24, 1874, in Chartiers, Pennsylvania, was baseball Hall of Fame Short Stop Honus Wagner. Wagner played 21 seasons in Major League Baseball from 1897 to 1917, almost entirely for the Pittsburgh Pirates. The "Flying Dutchman" as he was known, won his eighth (and final) batting title in 1911, a National League record that remains unbroken to this day, and matched only once, in 1997, by Tony Gwynn.
Born November 8, 1924, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, was Hockey Hall of Fame Goalie, "The China Wall," Johnny Bower. This legend between the pipes played for 15 seasons, capturing two Vezina Trophies and four Stanley Cup Championships. He was on the New York Rangers for the first three seasons of his career but experienced much of his success as a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
