Born August 14, 1959, in Lansing, Michigan, was Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Point Guard, and Executive, Earvin Magic Johnson. Magic after winning a national championship with Michigan State Spartans in 1979, was selected first overall in the 1979 NBA draft by the Los Angeles Lakers. This NBA legend was a five-time NBA champion, a three-time NBA Finals MVP, and helped win Olympic Gold in 1992 as a member of the USA Dream Team. He is also credited with nine NBA Finals appearances, 12 All-Star games, and nine All-NBA First Team selections. He led the league in regular season assists four times, and is the NBA's all-time leader in average assists per game in both the regular season (11.19 assists per game) and the playoffs (12.35 assists per game).
Born March 23, 1973, in San Francisco, California, was Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Guard Jason Kidd. This legend was a nine-time All-Defensive NBA standout, an NBA Champion 2011, and a six-time All-NBA star. His ten All-Star games set him on a level few have reached in the NBA, eventually placing him on the 2017 NBA 75th Anniversary Team. Kidd played on the Dallas Mavericks, Phoenix Suns, New Jersey Nets, Dallas Mavericks, and the New York Knicks.
Born November 5, 1952, in La Mesa, California, was Basketball Hall of Fame Center Bill Walton. This legend was a star at UCLA before being drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers in 1974. Walton also played on the San Diego/ Los Angeles Clippers, and the Boston Celtics. Walton led Portland to an NBA championship in 1977, earning the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Award that season. He won another NBA title in 1986 as a member of the Boston Celtics. Bill was a two-time All-Star and was on the NBA 75th Anniversary team.
Born July 24, 1963, in Summeerfield, Louisiana, was Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Forward, Karl Malone, the Mailman. Karl was the NBA MVP 1997, 99. Malone went to fourteen NBA All Star games as a player playing most of his career for the Utah Jazz, along with a final season as a Los Angeles Laker. He helped the USA win Olympic gold in 1992 as part of the Dream Team, and did it again in 1996. He was part of a potent duo when teamed up with Guard John Stockton with the Jazz. His 36,928 career points scored rank third all-time in NBA history behind LeBron James and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and he holds the records for most free throws made and attempted, and most regular season games started, in addition to being tied for the second-most first-team All-NBA selections with Kobe Bryant and behind LeBron James.
