November 26, 1917 - The NHL forms with Montreal Canadiens, Montreal Maroons, Toronto Arenas, Ottawa Senators & Quebec Bulldogs; National Hockey Association disbanded

November 26, 1960 - Minneapolis-St Paul baseball club took the name Twins

November 26, 1963 - Navy Quarterback, Number 12, Roger Staubach won the 29th Heisman Trophy Award.

November 26, 1963 - Cincinnati Reds 2nd baseman, Number 14, Pete Rose won the NL Rookie of Year

November 26, 1965 - LA Dodgers 2nd baseman, Number 5, Jim Lefebvre was voted as the NL Rookie of Year

November 26, 1968 - Southern Cal running back Number 32O J Simpson took home the 34th Heisman Trophy Award.

November 26, 1969 - The35th Heisman Trophy Award went to Oklahoma Sooners running back, Number 36, Steve Owens

November 26, 1975 - Boston Red Sox center fielder, Number 19, Fred Lynn becomes the first rookie ever to be named American League MVP

November 26, 1980 - Mike Schmidt, Number 20 for the Phiilies was unanimous choice as NL MVP

November 26, 1984 - After 518 goals and 14 years with Montreal Canadiens, Number 10, Guy Lafleur retired abruptly. It was a few seasons later that he laced up the skates once more in the NHL with the New York Rangers.

November 26, 1989 - CFL Grey Cup, SkyDome, Toronto: Saskatchewan Roughriders defeat Hamilton Tiger-Cats, 43-40 on Number 36, Dave Ridgway's field goal winner was known as 'The Kick'

November 26, 1995 - Miami Dolphins QB, Number 13, Dan Marino set an NFL record with his 343rd career touchdown pass

November 26, 1999 - NHL legend Steve Yzerman, wearing Number 19 for the Detroit Red Wings, scored the 600th goal inhis NHL career
