Born August 22, 1939, in Southampton, NY, was Carl Yastrzemski. Yastrzemski played wearing the number 8 on the Boston Red Sox from 1961-83) for a total of 23 seasons as he batted 0.285 for his career, had an On Base percentage of 0.462, with 452 career Home Runs, and 7 Gold Glove Awarded Seasons. He was later inducted into Cooperstown, New York's Baseball Hall of Fame.
