Rollie Fingers
Born August 25, 1946, in Steubenville, Ohio, was Baseball Hall of Fame Relief Pitcher, Rollie Fingers. This legend is a seven-time MLB All Star; World Series Champion in 1972, 73, and 74 where he was voted as the MVP. Fingers was also the American League Most Valuable Player and took home the Cy Young Award 1981. The man with the famous handlebar mustache donned the uniforms of the Oakland A's, San Diego Padres, and the Milwaukee Brewers during his baseball career. He set franchise records for career saves for all three of his teams, and took the hill in multiple innings to ice the victory for his teams. career ERA of 2.90 ranked eighth among pitchers with at least 1,500 innings pitched after 1930. Fingers was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1992, making him just the second reliever elected after Hoyt Wilhelm.
Ray Halladay
Born May 14, 1977, in Denver, Colorado, was Baseball Hall of Fame Pitcher Roy Halladay. He played for the Toronto Blue Jays and Philadelphia Phillies between 1998 and 2013 during his MLB career. Halladay led the league in complete games seven times, the most of any pitcher whose career began after 1945. He also led the league in strikeout-to-walk ratio five times and innings pitched four times. Known as Doc, he pitched both the 20th perfect game and the second postseason no-hitter in major league history, led the majors in shutouts for the second consecutive year, and won the National League Cy Young Award.
Bucky Harris
Born November 8, 1896, in Port Jervis, New York, was Baseball Hall of Fame Second Baseman and Manager Bucky Harris. This legend played for the Washington Senators for ten seasons, even helping them to claim the 1924 World Series crown as a player/manager, and then spent his final two years as a member of the Detroit Tigers. His career batting average was .274, and he batted in 508 runs in the MLB. Harris stayed in baseball as a manager, and it was this part of his career that got him into the Hall of Fame after 29 productive years on the job as he not only won World Series glory in '24 but also helped the New York Yankees to the title in 1947 as their skipper.
David Ortiz
Born November 18, 1975, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, was Baseball Hall of Fame Designated Hitter David Ortiz. This legend was a ten-time MLB All-Star and won three World Series Championships. Ortiz was also a Silver Slugger winner and a Home Run Derby Champion. His explosive power with a bat in his hand helped elevate the Boston Red Sox to the top spot in the MLB rankings for much of his career. 541 Career Home Runs with 2472 hits and a .286 Batting Average make David Ortiz a great player in the game's history.
