Red Faber
Born September 6, 1888, in Cascade, Iowa, was Baseball Hall of Fame Pitcher, Red Faber. This legend was a World Series Champion in 1917 as a member of the Chicago White Sox. He was also the American League ERA leader 1921, 22. He played with the Chicago White Sox from 1914-33.
Faber won 254 games over his career, a total which ranked 17th-highest in history upon his retirement. At the time of his retirement, he was the last legal spitballer in the American League; another legal spitballer, Burleigh Grimes, was later traded to the AL and appeared in 10 games for the Yankees in 1934. Faber was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1964.

Eddie Plank
Born August 31, 1875, in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, was Baseball Hall of Fame Pitcher Eddie Plank. This legend was a World Series champion in 1910, 11, 13 with the Philadelphia Athletics. After fourteen seasons with the A's Eddie signed on with the St. Louis Terriers in 1915, and the St. Louis Browns in 1916 and 1917. Plank was the first lefty to reach the 200 and 300 win plateaus and still sits in third place in the record books for southpaw victories at 326. Passing away in 1926 from a stroke, Eddie Plank was posthumously elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1946 by the Veterans Committee.
Dolf Luque
Born August 4, 1890, in Havana, Cuba, was Baseball hall of Fame Pitcher, Dolf Luque. This legend was a member of the 1919 and 1933 World Series Champion teams of the Cincinnati Reds and New York Giants respectively. Dolf was MLB wins leader & MLB ERA leader 1923. Luque was enshrined in the Cuban Baseball Hall of Fame in 1957 and the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame in 1967, as well as in the Mexican Baseball Hall of Fame in 1985. Luque was not only the first Latino pitcher in MLB, but also the first to win a World Series victory and the first to lead the Leagues in wins and shutouts.
Amos Rusie
Born May 30, 1871, in Mooresville, Indiana, Was Baseball Hall of Fame Pitcher/Out Fielder Amos Rusie. They called by the nickname "The Hoosier Thunderbolt", as he was an American right-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball during the late 19th century. The ten seasons of his illustrious MLB career were one season with the Indianapolis Hoosiers in 1889, eight with the New York Giants from 1890 to 1898, and one with the Cincinnati Reds in 1901. Amos was famous for the velocity he could put on his pitches, as he led the league in strikeouts five times, and won 20 or more games eight times.
Roger Connor
Born July 1, 1857, in Waterbury, Connecticut was Baseball Hall of Fame First Baseman, Roger Connor. Roger had the career Home Run record of 138 stood for 23 years. Connor was NL batting champion 1885 and NL RBI leader 1889 with the New York Giants. Oddly enough though he played for several teams, Connor was responsible for the New York Gothams becoming known as the Giants. His play in New York was the longest of all the teams he played on but also found on the rosters of the Philadelphia Phillies (1892), and the St. Louis Browns (1894–1897).
Mickey Welch
Born July 4, 1859, in Brooklyn, New York, was Baseball Hall of Fame Pitcher, Mickey Welch. Mickey was the third hurler in MLB history to reach 300 career wins. He played on the Troy Trojans and the New York Giants. He played 13 seasons in the major leagues and was very successful with an effective curveball, a change-up, and a version of the screwball. During his 13 major league seasons, he posted 20 or more wins nine times, seven in succession. "Smiling Mickey", was on the Giants in 1889 when they had the best record and the claim of the top team in pro baseball.
Jim Kaat
Born November 7, 1938, in Zeeland, Michigan, was Baseball Hall of Fame Pitcher Jim Kaat. This legend won 16 Gold Gloves and was a three-time MLB All-Star. Kaat took the mound for the Washington Senators, the Minnesota Twins, the Chicago White Sox, Philadelphia Phillies, New York Yankees, and the St Louis Cardinals during his 27-year MLB career. He helped the Cardinals win the 1982 World Series and had a career ERA of 3.45 with 2461 strikeouts and 17 saves.
Lou Brock
Born June 18, 1939, in El Dorado, Arizona, was Baseball Hall of Fame Left Fielder Lou Brock. Lou started his MLB journey as a Chicago Cubs but after three years spent the next 15-years wearing the uniform of the St. Louis Cardinals. Brock batted ,293 for his career, and had 3023 hits with over 900 stolen bases. He is a former MLB Player of the Year, played in 6 All-Star games and won two World Series titles.
Cristobal Torriente
Born November 16, 1893, in Cienfuegos, Cuba was Baseball hall of Fame Outfielders, Cristóbal Torriente. This legendary lefty was a powerful man with a bat in his hand. Cristobal was known as a pull hitter, but he could hit with power to all fields. Torriente played in the Negro Leagues for Chicago American Giants, Detroit Stars, Kansas City Monarchs, Detroit Stars, Louisville Black Caps, Atlanta Black Crackers, and Cleveland Cubs.
Walter Johnson
Born November 6, 1887, in Humboldt, Kansas, was Baseball Hall of Fame Pitcher Walter Johnson. This Washington Senators mound legend helped the team win the 1924 World Series in seven games. Johnson was a five-time ERA title holder and a three-time Triple Crown Champion with two League MVPs to his credit. Walter had an amazing career ERA of 2.17 with 417 wins. The right-handed pitcher threw for Washington from 1907 to 1927. He later functioned as the manager of the Senators from 1929 through 1932 and of the Cleveland Indians from 1933 through 1935.
