Cristobal Torriente

Born November 16, 1893, in Cienfuegos, Cuba was Baseball hall of Fame Outfielders, Cristóbal Torriente. This legendary lefty was a powerful man with a bat in his hand. Cristobal was known as a pull hitter, but he could hit with power to all fields. Torriente played in the Negro Leagues for Chicago American Giants, Detroit Stars, Kansas City Monarchs, Detroit Stars, Louisville Black Caps, Atlanta Black Crackers, and Cleveland Cubs.

George Davis

Born August 23, 1870, in Cohoes, New York, was Baseball hall of Fame Shortstop and manager, George Davis. This legend famously played with the New York Giants and won a World Series in 1906 on the Chicago White Sox. George early on was an outfielder and a steady, dependable hitter for the Cleveland Spiders of the National League from 1890-92. He is ranked among the top 100 players of all time in several statistical categories. Davis was a switch hitter.

Billy Williams

was Baseball Hall of Fame Left Fielder Billy Williams. This legend played his MLB career with the Chicago Cubs. Billy was a six-time MLB All Star; 1961 NL Rookie of the Year; 1972 NL batting champion. A model of consistent production, he went on to provide the Cubs with at least 20 home runs and 80 RBI every year through 1973, batting over .300, hitting 30 home runs and scoring 100 runs five times each.

Albert G Spalding

Born September 2, 1850, in Byron, Illinois, was Baseball Hall of Fame Pitcher, A. G. Spalding. This legend was also a manager and executive in the MLB as the President, co-owner Chicago White Stockings. From the mound he was the National League's wins leader 1871–76. You may recognize his name as he used his baseball knowledge as he innovated and standardized equipment used to become co-founder of Spalding sporting goods company.

Bill Mosienko

Born November 2, 1921, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, was Hockey Hall of Fame Right Wing Bill Mosienko. This legend was a two-time NHL All-Star and won the 1944-45 Byng Award. Mosienko spent his entire 14-year career with the Chicago Black Hawks, scoring 258 goals with 282 assists. A famous moment during his career included him scoring three goals in just 21 seconds against the New York Rangers in 1952.

Tim Raines

Born September 16, 1959, in Sanford, Florida Baseball Hall of Fame Left Fielder, Tim Raines. This solid fielder, hitter and base stealing sensation was a seven-time MLB All-Star. He was a World Series Champion in 1996, 98, 2005 and the National League batting champion 1986. Raines played for the Montreal Expos, New York Yankees, and Chicago White Sox.

Ted Lindsay

Born July 29, 1925, in Renfrew, Ontario was Canadian Hockey Hall of Fame Left Wing Ted Lindsay. This skating legend won the Art Ross Trophy 1950, and was an NHL Players Association pioneer. Ted played 22 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL). Lindsay was a six-time Stanley Cup champion (1950, 1952, 1954, 1955, 1956, and 1960) and won the Hart Memorial Trophy as the NHL's most valuable player in 1954. He was also a two-time Lady Byng Memorial Trophy winner (1954 and 1957), which is awarded to the player who demonstrates the most sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability.

Lindsay was a physical player who was known for his hard hitting and aggressive style of play. He was also a gifted scorer, recording 723 goals and 701 assists in his career.

After his playing career, Lindsay was active in the Detroit Red Wings Alumni Association and helped raise money for children's charities in Metro Detroit. He was also a vocal advocate for players' rights and helped to found the NHL Players' Association. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1966.

Jim Thome

Born August 27, 1970, in Peoria, Illinois, Baseball Hall of Fame infielder Jim Thome. The big man played in Major League Baseball for 22 seasons (1991–2012). Jim played for six different teams throughout his career, most notably the Cleveland Indians. A prolific power hitter, Thome hit 612 home runs during his career—the eighth-most all time—along with 2,328 hits, 1,699 runs batted in, and a .276 batting average. He was a member of five All-Star teams and won a Silver Slugger Award in 1996. Thome won the Roberto Clemente Award in 2002 as a roster member of the Cleveland Indians and was the 2003 National League HR leader 2003 while part of of the Philadelphia Phillies organization.

Nate Thurmond

Born July 25, 1941, in Akron, Ohio, was Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Forward Nate Thurmond. Nate is a 7-time NBA All Star. The majority of his 14-year career in the National Basketball Association (NBA) with the Golden State Warriors franchise. In 1965, he grabbed 42 rebounds in a game; only Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell recorded more rebounds in an NBA game. Thurmond was named a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1985, one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History, and part of the NBA 75th Anniversary Team in 2021.

Phil Esposito

Born February 20, 1942, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, was Hockey Hall of Fame Center, Phil Esposito. This legend was an eight-time NHL All-Star who won five Art Ross, two Ted Lindsey Awards, and two Hart Memorial Trophies. Esposito is best known for his time with the Boston Bruins; however, he started his NHL journey with the Chicago Black Hawks. On the other side of his career, after playing in Beantown, he was a member of the New York Rangers. Esposito's career was so impactful that he was honored on the NHL's 100th Anniversary - 100 Greatest Players.
