Sports History on 20th of December

Born December 20, 1900, in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, was Baseball Hall of Fame Catcher known as "Old Tomato Face" or Gabby Hartnett. Gabby played most of his MLB career with the Chicago Cubs, from 1922 to 1940. He later had a one year stint with the New York Giants in 1941. Besides catcher, Gabby Hartnett played the positions of First Baseman too as he batted 0.297 for his career, had an On Base percentage of 0.489, with 236 career Home Runs.

Born December 20, 1909, in Toronto, Ontario, was Hockey Hall of Fame Right Wing Charlie Conacher. This legend skated for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings, and New York Americans during his NHL career.

Born December 20, 1881 in Flat, Ohio, was Baseball Hall of Fame Pioneer/Executive Branch Rickey. This legend is most famous for the signing of Jackie Robinson for the Brooklyn Dodgers, but Rickey was a player once too, and had so many other accomplishments in baseball to be remembered for too.
