February 20 Image of the Day

Marymount basketball tour by Creator: Adolph B. Rice Studio taken around 1959 Feb. 20. This image sit as part of the Rice Collection in the Repository of the Library of Virginia, Prints and Photographs, 800 E. Broad St., Richmond, VA, 23219, USA. Image is courtesy of Wikimedia Commons.

We could not find much on this squad of ladies and how they did on this tour, however we feel by the clues left that this is a Viirginia team from 1959. Love hoe they are all matched in the dress so that you know this was a unified team. They are having a great time it appears, clapping, singing, and swaying. Cheerleaders in the front with their plaid skirts, and light colored sweaters. Notice that two of the cheerleaders have a star on their left shoulder. Could these be the captains of the cheer squad?
