March 20 is truly a day for legends of sports. Sports history is made every day of the year. We will preserve at least a small sampling from some great athletes every day based on the uniform number they wore.

March 20, 1973 - Pittsburgh Pirates legendary right fielder, Number 21, Roberto Clemente was elected posthumously to enter into the Baseball Hall of Fame. A tragic plane crash had taken Clemente life just 11 weeks earlier.

21 Mar 1973, Wed Sun Herald (Biloxi, Mississippi) Newspapers.comMarch 20, 1990 - The Jersey Number 33 of one Kareem Abdul Jabbar is celebrated by the Los Angeles Lakers faithful as the orgainization honors the legend by retiring the number from further use.

March 20, 2020 - Number 12, Tom Brady officially ends an era of the New England Patriots dynasty as he singed a two year contract with the Tampa bay Buccaneers. Brady had been at the helm of the pat's offense fo 20 seasons.
