April 30, 1922 - Chicago White Sox pitcher Charlie Robertson,  threw a perfect game as the White Sox beat Detroit Tigers, 2-0 at Navin Field.

April 30, 1939 - New York Yankees legend, Number 4, Lou Gehrig set an MLB record playing his 2,130th consecutive and final game for the Yankees.

April 30, 1944 - New York Giants great, Mel Ott, Number 4 scored 6 runs in 1 game drawing 5 walks for 4th time

April 30, 1956 - The Boston Celtics traded Number 22,  “Easy” Ed Macauley and Number 17, Cliff Hagan to St. Louis for the Hawks’ No. 1 draft pick, which they used to select Bill Russell, who would eventually wear Number 6 with the Celts.

April 30, 1971 - The Milwaukee Bucks, led by young Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (Number 33) and veteran Oscar Robertson (Number 1), beat the Baltimore Bullets 118-106 to complete a four-game sweep of the NBA Finals, capturing the franchise’s only NBA championship.
