Sometimes in life it is the little things that matter. In the case of our guest today it was a small annual marketing booklet on sports that brought a family bond closer betwen a father and his son and a link that will last as a fond life-time memory, for historian and author Mark Speck.

Mark Speck shares the Kessler Fan Guide

Author and historian Mark Speck gives us some great memories that he had waiting for his father to bring home a marketing publication put out by Kessler's Whiskey from the 1950s right into the early 21st-Century, The Kessler's Baseball Fans Guides.

The approximately 35 page pamphlet told items about each MLB team, its players and stadium seating info as well as schedules to get fans amped up for the upcoming season of MLB baseball. Mark said this in a recent Facebook post:

"Every year for 5 or 6 years my Dad would bring one home for me when the bar near where he worked had a few copies. Getting this every year during my teens really sparked my interest in sports and sports statistics. I still have the Guides for every season from 1969 to 1975. I remember this not only because I looked forward to and enjoyed getting the book each year, but also it was a nice way for my Dad and I to connect on a certain level. Of simple things like this are special memories made."

Join us in the podcast above to learn more about the guide amn Mark's special experiences he had wuith the beloved marketing booklet.
