In this bonus episode of baseball history on the Sports Jersey Dispatch we discuss the history of pro baseball in South Florida with guest historian and author Sam Zygner with his insight and research on some amazing hardball stories.

South Florida's minor league teams have had some great players such as:

Satchel Paige, Eddie Murray, and Cal Ripken Jr. among others come through their system. Also Sam shares the story of a great young prospect named Jeff Feramisco along with legendary people such as Bill Veech and Fredi González and their place im Miami area baseball. Mr Gonzalez has a very personal history as a youngster in a program that Barbara's father had developed to help young Cuban youths acclimate to life in the States.
